Aston Villas marketing department continue to churn out quality viral videos this summer.

Embracing new media with open arms, the Midlanders have looked to ramp up excitement and season ticket sales ahead of the new season by releasing a series of fantastic spoof videos in which their star players show off the array of skills.

Things kicked off with Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar filmed taking on the Aston Villa groundsman. That was followed by Norwegian striker John Carew using his shooting talent to fix a flickering club badge on the Villa Park stadium.

A third ad was then released with James Milner taking part in a ramped up ball-in-the-hole challenge, and Ashley Young also took part in the virals as he took on the crossbar challenge blindfolded.

Now Stewart Downing has got involved too.

Sadly the Downing video lacks the freshness which the earlier virals had as the left-footed winger follows in James Milners footsteps with the rubbish bin challenge. With Milner set to join Manchester City immanently though, perhaps the Villains are trying to reassure their faithful that Downing can fill his boots.

Stewart Downings viral can be seen here.
