Manchester United got off to the worst possible start when the Red Devils lost possession in the centre circle after 11 minutes, a slick first-time through ball released Wizards captain Davy Arnaud and the experienced forward slipped in the opener. It should have been 2-nil soon after when awful defender from Rafael allowed Ryan Smith to sneak in on his blindside but end product was too easy for United keeper Ben Amos. Manchester United then began to motor, Luis Nani forcing keeper Jimmy Neilsen into saving his header before Neilsen came up big again against Nani after the forward had broken clear. Then came the 39th minute controversy as Berbatov (offside?) was taken out in the box by Jimmy Conrad, the ref produced a red, and Dimitar Berbatov scored from the spot. But the Wizards hit back immediately as Kei Kamara wasnt picked up from a 3rd minute corner and headed in the hosts second.
